Q

What does UGO do?

R

UGO combines the stimulation of video games with the time-tested joy of playing outside in a life-size interactive experience. Installed in a play structure, UGO speaks to the children, sparking their imaginations, while encouraging and praising their efforts.

UGO Version 1.0 features the playmate-characters Wawa and Slam, who take kids on an activity-filled tour of their world, a swamp created by a meteorite that made them into friendly mutants! This theme is presently available in English and in French.

Future themes will allow UGO’s installation in either existing play structures or those still on the design table.

Q

How do you play with UGO?

R

You start by choosing a game on UGO’s interactive terminal. Equipped with speakers and an LED display, this terminal is connected to a series of sensors strategically located around the playground. The result is an immersive, video game-like play environment. Split up into teams and compete to get as many points as you can. Alternatively, you can set up solo game experiences.

Q

How many kids can play?

R

UGO provides a selection of competitive and cooperative games for team or solo play. The number of players is limited only by the capacity of the play structure on which it’s installed.

The UGO Version 1.0 module accommodates a maximum of 40 children. Coming versions will be customizable, with varying capacity levels.

Q

What power supply does UGO need?

R

All UGO needs is a 110-volt source, the same power supply as any electrical outlet found in your home. The interactive terminal simply plugs in to your local power grid.

UGO can also be easily connected to the Lekla™ PIVO solar power pole (optional). In addition to promoting green energy, the PIVO provides WIFI connectivity and even a power source that allows playground users to recharge their electronic devices.

Q

Does UGO stand up to the weather conditions of all seasons?

R

UGO is developed and manufactured by a company located in four-season territory so, yes, UGO’s electronic components are selected for their ability to withstand the extremes of winter cold and summer heat.

Q

Is it vandal-proof?

R

The electronic components are installed with robust materials that provide great durability and heightened resistance to impact. Manufacturer’s warranties apply to all UGO playground components.

Q

Can the play structure be customized?

R

UGO Version 1.0 is exclusive to a single game-structure model, so its specifications (configuration, components, colour choice, etc.) are not customizable.

We will be able to install upcoming versions of UGO on all existing play structures, as well as those in design right now. The structure will then be the client’s choice.

Q

Are there volume and run-time controls?

R

We do that when we install UGO for you. We set the volume level and on/off times according to the playground environment and our clients’ specific requirements.

Q

How big does the playground have to be?

R

The UGO Version 1.0 module requires a 43’ x 40’ (13.1m x 12.2m) playground, as well as a 6’ x 3’ (1.8m x 1m) exterior space for the interactive terminal. Placement of these two areas is up to the client.

The next versions of UGO will be customizable and adaptable to any playground.
